Last night, off-Broadway's 2nd longest running musical closed after 13 years and 3069 performances. I had the great opportunity to do Naked Boys Singing for a year. Great friend were made thru this show. I'm gonna miss the boys! Once a naked boy...always a naked boy!

Hawaii used to be one place in theworld in which there was never a problem being naked in public justabout anytime you wanted to. Hawaii has always had a live and letlive attitude about just about everything and although nudity wasofficially prohibited at public beaches, this ordinance was almostnever enforced. If you wanted to go for a late-day swim and youforgot your bathing suit, on any weekday you could pretty much headfor a deserted local beach, strip off and enjoy the Pacific’s warmwaters. Although there are no official nude beaches on any of theHawaiian Islands, several have decidedly been designated nude beachesby the local population. Two of the largest and best are Little Beachon Maui and Donkey Beach on Kauai. Little Beach in Makena is situatedon cliffs overlooking Big Beach and is a bit of a challenge to getto, having to climb up some pretty steep cliffs and then head down anunpaved path to the beach. Once you’re there, it’s a nudist’sparadise, usually frequented by surfers, boogie boarders, Frisbeethrowers, gay and straight couples of all ages, almost all of whomenjoy being naked together. Some of the photos of me seen here weretaken on Little Beach. Donley Beach on Kauai has been a nude beachsince the late 1960s, when it was often visited by stoned-outhippies. I’ve been getting naked on that beach for the past twentyyears. It was originally an unmarked beach at the 11 mile marker,north of Kapa’a. You simply parked your car on the road and walkedthrough an unpaved sugar cane field, following a rock path down tothe beach. Unfortunately in recent years, a developer purchased theland from the sugar cane company and elected to build high-end housesvalued in excess of three million dollars on the property. A parkinglot has been installed, as well as a paved path to the beach, theonce secluded beach being secluded no more. You can usually find amixture of clothed and unclothed bathers on the beach but this is nolonger the “hang loose” beach that it used to be. Several of thephotos of me were taken at Donkey Beach and you can notice the folksin the background who are fully clothed, while I was enjoying mynakedness. Still both beaches are definitely worth a visit, if youheading out to either Maui or Kauai.

Where are you from?
Minneapolis, Minnesota. Not far from the Canadian border.

Do you have any favorite places to be naked?Hmm, yeah. A lake. Love swimming naked and laying in the sand with the sun pouring down. There's a lake in Minneapolis that's only accessible via walking- and a lot of people go there in the summer to get nearly naked. The bummer is that there's houses going in, so there's not as much nudity anymore.

What was your first memory of enjoying being naked?
My first memory of liking being naked was when I was 13 or so. Took my swim trunks off in a pool with a bud of mine during a game of double dare. Loved the feeling of freedom, and it didn't hurt that I had an audience.

In a good natured sort-of-way, yes I like to show off. If I know it's wanted & appreciated.

Your buddy from the pool…are you still friends?
We are. We don't get naked anymore. But it's nice to have friends that you've seen naked & vice versa and that are still your friend after. ;)

I have a big appreciation for underwear. I used to think it was a fetish, but I don't need underwear to get off, so I think it's classified more as an appreciation.

Briefs for everyday wear. Thong if I am getting my photo taken, and boxer briefs if I am needing to make a lot of changes in front of people.

Have you been naked on camera?
Yes, and before everyone tries to match my body to that of the latest skinny male porn guy- I only have shown my arse in one horror film and one comedy film. So twice. Being naked on a movie set is weird because everyone else is clothed and I am naked. Makes it harder to chill out and relax. Unlike it is in a locker room where everyone is naked. Though after about an hour it seems like people don't notice as much. I believe the term for that feeling once it happens, is that the nakedness has become "pedestrian".

Burning Man

This was supposed to be my first year at Burning Man. Unfortunately, life and work got in the way of the best laid plans. I had to sell my ticket and scrap my plans to attend the festival. I was planning to attend with a group of friends from New York and meet some other friends there. They are all headed that way today and tomorrow without me now. Naked at Rock River, Vermont

Today, I drove 2 hours to an area called Rock River, just outside Brattleboro, VT. It's a very secluded area, and it helps to have detailed instructions on how to get there.

That's the link I used to help me out. The tricky part is figuring out what to do when the first trail ends....in the river. You have to cross straight across and pick up the trail there. You will continue on, this time on the other side of the river.

The great thing about getting to Rock River is as soon as you pass a sign that says 'clothing optional beyond this point' you can strip off and hike the rest of the way naked, which is what I did today. Here are some pics.

As you can see, the weather was perfect! Here's my penis to prove I was naked.

Here is a quick update on my day at Bay to Breakers in San Francisco last weekend.

The weather forecast was for cold, rain and possible thunderstorms but I was still determined to get out there and enjoy a naked run through the city.

When I woke up on the morning of the race, there was blue sky and no wind - perfect. I threw on a pair of old running shorts and T-shirt and headed to the start line along with 55,000 others. Once the race started I ran for 1/2 mile as I was and then stopped by a good looking spectator, asked him to hold my water bottle and camera and I took off my T-shirt - his next comment was perfect "What about the rest?" he said. I replied "OK" and removed my shorts to cheers from the crowd around me. I handed him my shorts and T-shirt, took my water bottle and camera and continued on the run. I was no completely naked surrounded by lots of other runners and spectators and knowing that I had no option to get clothes again until I was back at my car (which I was now running further and further away from).

The race was great and I met a lot of really fun people. Everyone seems to enjoy seeing a naked guy running along and the freedom feels wonderful. I saw about a dozen other naked guys throughout the day so it was good to see a few others getting out there and enjoying it. A few guys even stripped off after seeing me (although this may have had more to do with their alcohol intake than my encouragement) Once I finished the race it did really dawn on me that I was now completely naked and about 8 miles away from my car and clothes. I ended up running and walking all the way back along the race course - stopping for a few more photos, drinks and dancing. Of course at some point I ended up having to move away from the race course and just walk through the city streets to get back to my car. Fortunately San Francisco understands that on Bay to Breakers Sunday - anything can happen and a naked guy walking past Bloomingdales and Macy's isn't that big a deal.

It was a great day, perfect weather and a wonderful opportunity to be naked in the city.

Around 4:00pm yesterday, I boarded the N train to Queensboro Plaza where I transfered to the 7 train to head out to Flushing, Queens to review Spa Castle for this blog. The train trip took about 40 minutes because there was no express service. Once I got to Flushing, I had to whip out my iPhone and google map the shuttle pick up location. By the time I got there, the 4:40 shuttle had already left, so I was stuck waiting for the next one for 25 minutes.

Once I was on the shuttle, it took about 20 minutes to get to Spa Castle. The check-in process is very easy. The front desk staff is very polite. I handed my card over and was charged $35. (It's $45 on the weekends) I got a fancy wrist fob to electronically unlock my locker and to swipe at the cafe (more on that later). I entered the men's locker room and put my shoes in their own mini-locker, then proceeded on to the locker for my clothes.

At my locker, I encountered a group of fairly rowdy guys who had obviously never been to a spa like this and were being goofballs about getting naked. I promptly stripped down, locked my belongings in my locker and proceeded on to the wet area. The wet area is quite nice, although it was very crowded and loud with many children running around. The facilities are impeccably clean and well maintained. The lighting is bright, but not blindingly so. You'll encounter a wall of open air showers to use before entering any of the pools. There are four shallow sitting pools with varying temperatures (one is nearly too hot to do anything but put your feet in), and one larger L shaped warm pool with jets for your back and legs. Two cool temperature pools round out the wet area. The large cold pool is around 80 degrees....cold when you get in, but quite comfortable once your body adjusts. I didn't venture into the cold plunge pool that has a high temp of 60 degrees. There's a really hot steam room and sauna as well...both quite nice, although a bit hot for my tastes. Also in the room, you'll find seated shaving stations, an area for the body scrub/massages (you can purchase these extra), and two more shower areas.

The next level up features a cafe area, and the co-ed saunas (pronounced sow-na...I read that on one of their signs). The saunas are really quite nice and, again, very clean. The one caveat being, the place gets very busy, so relaxing in the saunas is nearly impossible. But, if you want a good sweat...you're in the right place. My favorites are the Jade Sauna, and the Far-Infrared Sauna, but all are quite nice.

The top floor houses a restaurant and bar (though, I would advise not drinking and entering the saunas...dangerous). The third floor contains an indoor/outdoor wet area with pools very similar to the ones in the men's wet area. It was cold last night, so I didn't last very long outside in the heated pools because the wind was making it feel colder than it was.

The food is good, but very overpriced. It's easy to rack up a huge bill because you just swipe your wrist fob and sign for it. You pay your bill when you check out.

After my tour through the co-ed areas, I ventured back to the men's area where I could take off my uniform (provided) and hang out nude. There were still quite a few children around, but I tried to remind myself that they were just having fun...although, it makes relaxation very difficult. Most everyone I met were quite friendly.

Overall, I would recommend this place. I only wish it were closer to Manhattan and a little cheaper. Check out their website for more information. Spa Castle New York

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Spa Castle, except for the amount of time it takes to get there. Spa Castle is located in College Point, NY...an area somewhat accessed by the 7 train. Thankfully, they provide a free shuttle service to ferry people back and forth from the train station to the spa.

I've been to a similar spa/sauna in Dallas, and if this one is anything like it, I'm sure I will love it.

The sauna rooms are co-ed and thus, clothing mandatory. However, the wet areas are divided by gender and nudity is mandatory.

At 5 stories high with 100,000 square feet, there's plenty of room to accomodate a New York crowd, although I've heard it tends to get quite crowded on the weekends. I will be visiting during the week very soon.

I just got home from my 32 hours spent at the GNI gathering. It was very refreshing to spend some time naked in the Poconos. The camp was great. Met some very wonderful people and had a great time with the cast of Naked Boys Singing...which was the reason I was able to go. I did the show in NYC for a year, and we never had an audience as amazing as the guys at GNI. Today, I got to take a canoe out on the lake with a friend from the show...never canoed naked...but, now I have. About halfway thru the day today, the temperature dropped as rain moved in, so most of the day was spent in our cabin having silly naked fun. As soon as I get some pics, I'll post them.

I've recently been discovering more and more about my body and learning to accept it. I'm 22 years old and I'm going through a great struggle: accepting that I'm gay and how I will come out to my friends and family. I've never said this to a friend or family member, so I'm telling it to the world wide web first. I've never really been with another man, and part of it is because I'm very self conscious about my weight. I'm more over weight than I'd like. However 2010 really is a new year and so far I've had good results.

I recently discovered Naked in the City and decided to lead more of a naked life. And I love it! It's truly a liberating thing. And although I'm not ready to to "go out naked" I'm highly enjoying it here at home, I'm much more accepting of my body and it makes me more willed to work on my weight.

Today, a rainy day in NYC, I really didn't want to go out to the gym after a long day of classes. So I decided to roll out my yoga mat in my room and begin some simple work out routines - naked. It's the best work out I've ever had!!! I've you've never done it, it seriously is amazing! My true athletic passion is swimming. I wish I could go to the pool and just swim naked. If anybody knows about such a place in NYC, let me know! I've been skinny dipping in the beach before in some of my beach trips, and it is truly exceptional. It connects me with nature at its fullest. If you haven't done so, do it now.

No pictures this time, but maybe in a few months I'll be excited to show how I live in a naked city to all of you out there.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest but have been gone for some time, living in more conservative places where being without clothes is not exactly embraced. I am planning a trip back home early next year; I plan to revisit one of my favorite locations: Breitenbush Hot Springs. It's in Detroit, Oregon, just about an hour east of Salem. It's a small community where you can rent day space and/or overnight cabins. It's up in the mountains, situated on a geothermal piece of land. Clothing is required outside of the soaking areas. However, the medicine pools (hot tubs, essentially) and the meadow pools are clothing optional. It's not only a freeing experience to be naked in nature, but to be so with others who are there to enjoy the beauty of what is around them.

My favorite experiences are sitting in the meadow pools, which sit on the side of a mountain that looks down the slope to the river below. Sitting naked in geothermally heated springs of water, surrounded by snow and mist under the moon is a mystic experience. If you ever get to Oregon, plan to spend some time there. It's beautiful.
